A Little Hello..

Hi Guys,

Ok, so I haven't blogged in over 5 months (WOW!! has it really been that long..) & to be totally honest, the real reason for this (other than life just generally getting in the way) is I supposed I havent really found what it is I feel I should be writting about. I Guess I just haven't found my niche.

I think being a newbie blogger I seem to find i'm comparing myself to those bloggers who have been blogging for years, but I know it is like with most things practice that makes perfect. I suppose you could say I have a love/hate relationship with my blog..I love that its my little space on the internet to share my thoughts and views on things, yet at the same timeIi hate that it's not quite where I want it to be..

So, with all that being said, I promise to you little blog, and to you readers and I suppose most importantly to myself that I will love this blog and make it the best that I can..I WILL BLOG MORE OFTEN!!!

You may notice i've also decided on a little name change in my time away. What do you think?

How To: Deep Clean Make Up Brushes

Ok, so I’ll be the first to admit I don't clean my make up brushes as often as I should.

Using make up brushes on a daily basis not only causes product build-up, but also causes bacteria to get trapped in the bristles and be spread across your face on each use (Yuk!!) which will cause a breakout.

So to keep both your skin and brushes in top condition give foundation and concealer brushes a deep clean once a week, eye brushes twice a month and all other brushes once a month.

1. Run brush under lukewarm water.
2. Fill a small bowl with lukewarm water and add a drop of baby shampoo.

3. Swirl brush tips around in the mixture.

4. Rinse brush under cold water and squeeze out residue. (Be careful of running the water over the base of the bush as overtime this can cause the glue that holds the brush together to breakdown and cause shedding!)

5. Repeat as necessary until the water runs clear.

6. Use a clean cloth to wipe and reshape brush and then leave to dry.

How often do you deep clean your brushes?

Slimming World - My New Journey..

So, with a fridge full of super free and free foods (explained below) today I start my new journey to a slimmer and healthier me!

I'll be doing the Slimming World Extra Easy diet plan as although I have previously failed at it :( I find it the best diet I’ve tried.

The Basics:

With Slimming World's Extra Easy Plan (Yes, it really is extra easy once you’ve got the hang of it!) you are encouraged to fill 1/3 of your plate at each meal with super free foods (listed below) and 2/3 of your plate with free foods (also listed below).

You are also allowed each day two Healthy Extras, an A Choice and a B Choice. Your A Choice is either a measured amount of milk or cheese and your B Choice is either a measured amount of bread or high fibre cereal, certain soups, tinned or dried fruit, nuts and seeds.

Each day you are also allowed between 5-15 Syns. Syns are anything usually considered naughty on a diet such as chocolate, crisps, biscuits, take-aways, supermarket ready meals and alcohol. All sauces like ketchup and mayo have syn values as well as cooking oil. Basically if you have anything that is not classed as Super free, Free, or one of your Healthy Extra's you must syn it.

So, What are Super free foods? These are most fruit, vegetables and salad.

What are Free foods? This is all meat as long as all visible fat is cut off, pasta, potatoes and rice. Worcestershire sauce, Bovril, herbs and spices, tomato puree and frylight (an alternative to cooking oil) are also free. Diet soft drinks, sugar free squash, tea and coffee are also free.

So here I go. Wish me luck!!

If anyone reading this is currently on the Slimming World diet or has previously tried it, let me know your thoughts.

A/W Wishlist...

So seeing as the weather is starting to get colder, I’ve devised my A/W wish list to help me keep warm this winter.

Boots - Wallis
Embellished black jumper - Wallis
J'Adore T-Shirt - River Island
Khaki Parka - Dorothy Perkins
Ripped knee skinny Jean - New Look
Blanket Wrap - New Look
Faux Leather Mini - River Island
Diamond Print Dress - Oasis

I've been looking for a pair of ripped jeans for a while now and can’t wait to get my hands on this pair from New Look. Worn with the gorgeous berry boots a plain white T-shirt and the tartan blanket wrap it has to be the perfect off duty outfit.

Berry is definitely my go to colour this winter and this faux leather mini is definitely another must have! I'd team this with the J'Adore T-shirt and a pair of heels for a night out or with the embellished jumper for a more dressed down look.

I can’t wait to go shopping....

Pretty Pink Florals..

As soon as I saw the colour of this coat I simply had to have it! It’s such a fun shade of pink and I love the collarless detail.

Today I teamed it with this beautiful floral dress also from New Look as it emphasises the pink detail. Worn with black tights and these gorgeous berry loafers from F&F at Tesco (currently 25% off clothes and shoes!!) This is easily a day to night outfit.
